Whitsunday Sands Resort offers self contained units, motel style units and studio units. This accommodation is set amongst acres of beautiful landscaped gardens at very reasonable rates.
The resort is surrounded by five secluded beaches, ideal for just lazing about in the sun, snorkeling, swimming, fishing and boating.
Available for guests to use is the BBQ Area, swimming pool, wading pool. There is also a coin operated washing machine and dryer available for use in our laundry. Our reception offers the facility for booking the Island cruises and tours of the Whitsundays, so if you are in need of a boat trip with luxury or want to adventure out fishing with the tides then this is place to come for information.
Whitsunday Sands Resort is located on a peninsula, providing direct access to beautiful Horseshoe Bay on the eastern side, and four secluded beaches on the western side. It is like an island on the main land. The Whitsunday Sands Resort abounds in wildlife including – Scrub Turkeys, Possums, Kookaburras, Mountain Lorikeets and the rare Rock Wallabies. Many of the animals are capable of being hand fed.
You will find that there is something to do for everyone in our beautiful region. Make sure that you take a swim at one of our award winning beaches, go snorkeling at Horseshoe Bay and drop a line in at our jetty on Santa Barbara Parade. If you like walking you will enjoy the numerous walking tracks which will take you to some of the most amazing lookouts you have ever seen. Flagstaff Hill, for example offers you a 360 degree view of the area. Bowen has a rich and interesting history, which has been depicted in 26 murals painted on the walls throughout the town.
You can also visit the Bowen Historical Museum which has been labeled one of the best regional museums in the state. Bowen is very well known for its diverse industries; mining, fishing and agriculture. Farmers grow a variety of fruit and vegetables throughout the year – they call Bowen the salad bowl of Australia for a reason! Bowen is most famous for the Kensington Pride Mango or commonly known as the ‘Bowen Special’.
